Castor Oil for Stretch Marks
Castor Oil can be used for many different things from hair loss to bad skin, but did you know that it can also be used to help stretch marks?
In medical terms stretch marks as known scientifically as ‘Striae Atrophicae’ are and commonly seen on the upper arms, hips, abdomen, thighs and breasts. Stretch marks are mainly caused by a number of reasons such as a sudden loss or gain in weight, pregnancy, swelling, tumours and most commonly obesity.
There are lots of remedies available in the market today but one of the most effective ways to cure and prevent these marks is through the use of castor oil as a topical treatment.
Castor Oil and Stretch Marks
Castor Oil can help several skin conditions, from wrinkles, spots, fine lines and skin discolouration there are several scientists that strongly recommend castor oil as a remedy.
How to apply Castor Oil for Stretch Marks
- Take a tablespoon of castor oil and rub it over the affected area
- Build a thick layer of the oil on the skin then cover it with a saran wrap (you can also wrap the area with a plastic sheet)
- Apply heat to the area for 20-25 minutes. You can do this by using hot water or a heating pad. If you feel the affected area needs further treatment you can apply heat for up to 45 minutes.
- Finally continue this routine once per day for at least 7 days and you will surely feel visible results within 7-10 days.
